you just have to share. And then you feel like a geek because you're excited about plants being right- or left-handed, and showing Fibonacci numbers. You write a blog post anyway, because you don't care about being geeky.

Our family is composed of a bunch of geeks. I guess it's in the blood, because from our twenty-seven year-old married daughter right down to our five-year-old, we're all geekish. Last night the youngest roped one of our (very patient) foster daughters into "putting on a play" with him, and he proceeded to read a series of 32 "steps" that made up a strange sort of play that his assistant acted out. It all had to be done in order, with nothing left out. Cute but geeky, and with a strong hint of OCD.
We all have things we're passionate about, and for me (Jennifer) this has evolved from my teen years when they were less geekish things like dance and pop culture through twenty-three years as a homeschool mom to be things like the relationship between the extinction of dinosaurs and surface area:volume ratios.
But now we're uniting all our geekiness into a family business: Vision Academy Publishing. All of us have contributed to the first book in some way: the older four children did the artwork and gave great feedback, while the youngest four were guinea pigs in designing the games. We hope you like it!
It is our hope that we can add to "The Great Conversation" through the books we publish (we have one finished, two partially finished, and a couple more in mind) as well as the blog posts and resources we make available on this website.
